Activities for Teenagers and Young Adults

Ministry to young people is a very important one, because youth is the future of our Church. We offer activities and programmes suited to the needs of our youth according to their age. These activities are an opportunity to learn about the faith at a more "advanced level". Monthly social events are held and young people attend Crossroads. For more information or to get involved, speak to Amanda Foster via (514 866-7113).

A Role in Organising and Supporting Ministries

Music ministry is an important one. Amongst other things, we have a Praise Team that fills in the musical programme of our Family Eucharists. Besides, some of our Youth are leaders during the musical part of Sunday School.

Getting Involved in Christian Life at Large

There is a programme run by the Diocese and the Montreal Diocesan Theological College called the Montreal Ministry Challenge, open to all youth 18-24, to spend the summer exploring different kinds of Christian ministry: pastoral visiting, leading Bible studies, youth work, leading worship, preaching, Bible camps, social outreach and more. I have application forms for this programme as well.

And Getting Involved in the Parish

The Youth Group's big project for Lent is to paint the mural on the wall leading down to the Youth Room. It is a work in progress. The youth group meets every Sunday morning during, but also in the evenings, every third Sunday, prior to the Crossroads service, for an informal dinner. The dinner is open to all youth in the diocese.

Crossroads

Crossroads is a diocese-wide organisation. Crossroads services are held at St. George’s on the third Sunday of the month, and our youth help organise this service.

The Family Service

They also help structure and organise the Family Eucharist. Some of them even form a small group, the Praise Team that plays the music at this service.

They then meet for lunch after the Family Service.
